Your dreams are stored only on this device. There is no Dream Oracle account, and we cannot see your journal. If you ask for a full AI reading, the text of that one dream is sent to our AI provider to generate the reading and is not stored by us afterward. We collect a small amount of anonymous usage data (like "a reading was requested") to understand how the app is used â never your dream content, and nothing that identifies you personally.
This policy covers Dream Oracle, an iOS app developed by an individual Australian developer (contact: antarcticasky26@gmail.com). Dream Oracle may fall under the small business exemption in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), but we've chosen to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) anyway, because it's the right way to run this app regardless of what the law strictly requires of us.
Dream entries you save, your interpretation history, and app preferences (like your morning reminder time) are stored locally using Apple's on-device storage framework. We do not operate a server that holds a copy of your journal, and there is no login, so there is no Dream Oracle account for anyone â including us â to access. If you have iCloud device backup turned on in iOS Settings, your dream journal may be included in that backup the same way any other app's local data would be; that backup is between you and Apple, not something Dream Oracle sends anywhere itself.
Two features send data off-device, only when you actively use them. First: requesting a full AI reading sends the text of that dream, and the classical symbols it matched, to our AI interpretation provider to generate the reading; if you continue the conversation with follow-up questions, those questions and the oracle's prior replies are included so it has context. That request is processed to generate your reading and is not retained by Dream Oracle afterward â our AI provider's own retention practices are governed by their policy, which we link to being an active area we review as providers change. Second: voice dictation for typing a dream aloud is transcribed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition â the audio itself is never sent anywhere, including to us or to Apple.
We collect a limited set of anonymous usage events â for example, that an interpretation was requested, a subscription was purchased, or the app was opened â to understand which parts of Dream Oracle are actually used. Each event is tagged with a one-way cryptographic hash of your device's vendor identifier, which rotates if you delete and reinstall the app and cannot be reversed to identify your device. These events never include your dream text, your journal entries, or anything else you've written. This data is processed by our analytics provider, which may be located outside Australia; by using the app you consent to that overseas handling for this limited, anonymous purpose.
All purchases â subscriptions, the lifetime unlock, and the reading-credit pack â are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Dream Oracle never receives or stores your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID password; Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Dream journaling can naturally touch on health, relationships, or other personal matters. Because that content never leaves your device except in the one narrow case above (a reading you explicitly requested), we don't collect, read, or analyse the contents of your journal in the ordinary course of running the app.
Dream Oracle is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
Because your dream journal lives only on your device, you already have full access to it, can edit or delete individual entries at any time from the Journal tab, and can delete everything at once by deleting the app. There is no server-side account for us to grant you access to or delete on your behalf. For the anonymous analytics events described above, contact us and we will work with our analytics provider to identify and remove data tied to your hashed device identifier, to the extent it can be located.
If how Dream Oracle handles your information changes â for example, if we add account sync or a new AI provider â we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. We won't make a change that reduces your privacy without making that change clear.
